Audition Information
The Midwest Chamber Ensemble currently has openings for the following instruments:
Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass.
Auditionees should be prepared to play two contrasting selections from a concerto, sonata, suite, or the like, and to sight read selected excerpt(s) from the standard orchestral repertoire.
Auditions are held by appointment. To schedule an audition, please send an email to Music Director Steve Lewis at steve@midwestchamberensemble.org.

MCE does not have a set roster of musicians. Musicians who pass the audition will be put on a master list and may receive an invitation to play with the ensemble 6 weeks before a concert. If you cannot play when asked, don't worry, you may be invited the next time.
MCE rehearses the week prior to a concert: 4 or 5 rehearsals lasting 2.5 to 3 hours and a competitive stipend is offered.
